However 1/48 scale tanks are few and even then the guns need to be enlarged, a would be impresive 30mm cannon looks more like a las rifle and is way to flimsy to be a game peice. Post pics of your Russes though, I'd love to see them.Ĥ0k is by measureing the hieght of a man 1/60 now since everything is kind of cartoony in that the men are wider and the tanks are shorter it makes it hard to insert anything forign into 40k but 1-48 vehicles actually look pretty good standing next to 40k ones. It just throws a very bright light on the other elements of the kit, which of course are very exaggerated (hence my reference to them as "cartoonish"). IMO, there is nothing that makes a Leman Russ (or a Land Raider, or whatever) look sillier than a real radio array on it, or real-world stowage, or real tools, etc. We offer this advice to you, not to put you down, but to prevent you from marring your Russ with some things that just look too "real-worldish" for it. It's best to start with the look of the 40k vehicle, then make pieces that are truer to what you consider a "real" Leman Russ would look like. They always look terrible when someone uses AM details for real-world tank models on them. They looks like tanks out of a Popeye cartoon. The tanks don't look anything like real tanks, or an amalgam of WWI and WWII tanks. These are not real tanks, they are Sci-Fi.
